How does the personal diamond creation technology work? How does Heart In Diamond achieve different diamond colours? Find answers to the most popular questions here.
How much hair or ashes is required to create a cremation diamond?
We request approximately 100 g of cremated ashes or 1/2 cup of hair or fur (about 2 g) for each diamond. If you have less, contact the UK team before sending anything so the sample can be assessed for the current process.
Please call to discuss other options, if you are unable to provide the required amount.
Is there a limit to the sources of personal carbon used to create a single diamond?
There is no limit to the number of people and/or pets whose signature carbon can be used to create your diamond. You can combine both source types (e.g., ashes and hair) and multiple people/pets in one source category (e.g., hair from an entire family, including your pet)
What happens if the entire personal carbon source is not used to create the diamond?
It is rare to have excess carbon following the creation process; however, any excess will be returned to you when we have completed your order.
Can our signature carbon ever be removed or extracted from a finished heart in diamond diamond?
No, it cannot. The pure carbon taken from the personal source that you provide is used as the core material from which the diamond is created and can never be altered following diamond growth.
How does the diamond creation process work?
A Heart In Diamond diamond is formed by applying high pressure and high temperature to your source of carbon – a process that replicates conditions found deep inside the earth. We begin with a tiny diamond seed and pure signature carbon. These core components are placed into a growth chamber to form a real “diamond in the rough.” This rough diamond is then cut and polished to the customer’s specifications.
How long does it take to create a heart in diamond diamond?
Creating your diamond usually takes around 90 days from the day we receive suitable ashes, hair or fur. Jewellery setting, AnchorCert certification, engraving and other selected services may add time; we confirm the complete estimate for your order.
How do i know that my cremation diamond is a real diamond?
Every personal diamond includes a complimentary Heart In Diamond Certificate of Authenticity with a breakdown of its chemical composition. Optional AnchorCert certification is also available and may add to the price and production time.
Is my heart in diamond diamond guaranteed?
Your personal diamond comes with a lifetime warranty that it will not fade over time or reveal inner defects. We provide the full warranty terms with your order.
Does the price of the diamond include mounting and setting?
Loose-diamond prices and jewellery-setting prices are shown separately. Review the current diamond prices and the current jewellery settings before comparing a complete order.

What if i do not know my finger size?
Please advise at the time of requesting an order pack and we will send you a ring sizer. Our jeweller is always on hand to assist if you are unsure on which size to choose.
What makes a heart in diamond diamond such a unique commemorative option?
Our diamonds are a one-of-a-kind keepsake that can never be duplicated. Among the hardest and most indestructible substances on earth, a diamond made from ashes permanently captures the essence of love and is a legacy that can be treasured for generations to come.
